Roughing Cycle - Undercut Stock Detection | Edgecam 2018 R1

Edgecam 2018 R1 introduces ‘Detect Undercut Stock’ which enhances the already powerful stock detection command by analyzing previously undetected areas of stock. This option helps to avoid ‘fresh-air’ cutting and thus reduces machining time. In certain case cycle time can be reduced by as much as 50%.

Automatic collision detection has been added to the Rough Turning Cycle. Prior to this enhancement, a user would manually apply profile extensions to avoid collisions. Profiling cycle offers new ‘Spring Cuts’ command where the user can add extra cuts if required to improve accuracy. This is particularly useful on materials where elasticity is an issue.
